SR How to tighten alternator belt?

I have some embarrasing squeaking belts that sound every time i start my car or whenever I come to a stop/press on the brakes in neutral.
I've been able to locate 2 tensioners and have gotten the bolts very tight, but that hasnt helped. I can't figure out where the tensioner is for the alternator belt, could someone give me an idea?

also , tightening the tensioner bolt tightens the belt correct? or is it the other way around, because nothing seems to stop the squealing.

Edit: all belts were new as of 2 months ago ; no fluid leaks

well ur belts might be too long and u might have to get a shorter belt, because the bolt on the top u loosen and that loosens the alternator the bottom bolt slides it back n forth, put sum wd40 on there too makes life alot easier, and see wat happens but my guess if both bolts are tight u might have to get a short belt and do it that way i duno, good luck.

Quick fix = pour soda on your belts. The syrup will dry and get sticky, hopefully making the belts stop slipping. Worked for me. Just dont pour it all over your alternator please.

On the alternator as you view it from the front of the car there is that horizontal bolt pointing to the driver side of the engine bay. At the end of that bolt is a small brass block with a nut on it, loosen that bolt before you try to tighten the belt. When you are done tightening the belt, tighten that nut again.

The alternator belt should deflect .4 inches when pushed from the top in the middle.

i think whats goin on is you didnt loosen the alternator. you can tighten and loosen that bolt till your face is blue but theres a bigger one that the alternator slides on that wont let it move if thats loose. the other thing too is if your belts have slipped too much its like they get a nice polished surface that makes it permanent.

Sorry if I'm not supposed to bump an old thread, but I was wondering how to tighten the belt on a KADE, or are they basically similar, if not, the same?
