Dunno what happend to the posts but the Koyo fits fine w/o any moddification. I only ended up puttin one of the two 14" Fluydine fans I bought. I went a bit overkill and the two were not able to fit with the Koyo radiator. Basiaclly the Koyo was so thinck that it brought the mounting points that i had too close to the A/C dryer. Oh wells.
Other than that I haven't seen much increase in temps so that's good. I have to drive the car to Oregon next weekend so we'll see how it takes a 1800 mile (roundtrip) road trip.

Nice. Where did you get the radiator, and would you happen to have any photos? I'm definately planning on replacing/upgrade my currently dying radiator in the (relatively) near future. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

You can try www.absoluteradiators.com they are one of Koyo's Master Dist. On average they usually go for about $375.00.

![]() absolute radiator what are the differences batween S13 and S14 radiators? KA and SR, as shown on the site, appear to have the tank connections in different places, but size differences are harder to make out, anyone know?

Shouldn't the temp decrease with the new radiator being so much thicker? Or will it increase b/c you are only using one fan? BTW why switch to an electirc fan? I was considering it as an option but I don't know the pros and cons of it. EDIT: I wasn't thinking. With the belt(?) fan on, the fan would always be running, keeping your engine cooler. But the electric only comes on when needed. Wouldn't the best way to keep your car cool is to replace the radiator and keep the reg fan?

I have that radiator for my SR, and I'm using the dual 12" Flex-A-Lite setup. It works great. The fit of those two fans is at the absolute limit of the radiator. I love it.
As for the OEM fan vs. Electric fan battle. For me there was no option. I didn't get an SR shroud, so the mech fan was just blowing air everywhere. You MUST have a shroud with the OEM fan (doubt people that take it out). Also, I really enjoy NOT having the fans on all the time. My car doesn't sound like a truck/Volvo when it starts up anymore. Oh, and by the way, the OEM fan isn't supposed to run ALL the time either. That's what that clutch thing is in the middle of the fan. It's supposed to shut off above a certain RPM...can't remember what. It really shouldn't need to be on at all on the highway, for example. And about the temps. The operating temp doesn't change by running a bigger/better radiator. That's dictated by your thermostat. What DOES change is the resistance to temp spikes. For instance, I used to be able to get the temp to creep above 195 on highway runs. Now it just sits at 180 all the time. And yesterday I blasted up to the speed limiter quite a few times on the way back from Chicago. So that's the advantage. The flip side is that it takes longer to cool off since there is more coolant in the system...but that's no big deal. Eric

You have a speed limiter on your SR? I don't have one on mine <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/eh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':eh:'>

Yea my SR shroud was cracked so i decided to run the electric. With the one 14" fan my temp never increases. On the freeway I never have the fan on and even on the streets it takes a while before my temp even increases but i leave the fan on anyways once i get off the freeway.
It's the combo of the Koyo and the fan that really does it.
