Rear Brake Piston Boot popped out..
My rear brake piston boot unseated while I was
turning the piston back in. What the best way to get them in without tearing them? Can I remove the piston and just seat the boot back in. Will brake fluid spill out if I take the piston out? Thanks. DK |

If you take off the piston, fluid will leak. I have never tried to put the cover on with the piston still in the caliper. What I usually do with the piston off is put the top part of the boot slighly on the piston and the bottom part in the caliper grove. Then I just slide it in.

Update.
I'm such a newb. I disconnected the brake hose, and emerg brake and then took off the caliper. Pulled the piston out, slid off the piston boot. Cleaned it up a bit. But a little break lube on the boot. Put the boot at the base of the piston , leaving room to seat the bottom of the boot to the piston housing. Then turned the back in. Woo hoo. But i realized that my bleede valve is seized. Is there a way I can bleed the brake wihtout using the bleeder valve. |

Update.
After a combination of PB Blaster, light hammering and heat cooling hammering x 3, I was able to get the bleeder valce out. The bolt head was barely holding on, on the verge of rounding. Off to get new bleeder valves and bleed my breaks. Thanks for every ones help. |

one of my rear calipers on my s13 was all full of rust and seazed up, i was able to fit it with a wire brush and some carfeul disassembly. just make sure you lube every thing up before u get it back to gether. and no you cant bleed the brakes with out a bleeder. spray some PB blaster on it and if that dont work try a torch, replace it once you get it lose
