what car?
most quarter glass is encapsulated meaning you have to replace it after removing it. the seal is samiched in between the glass.

fine line tape, 3/4" tape

If it's on the 240sx coupe (180sx) then don't take it off because you have the get the glass with the rubber already on it. If that the model you have I don't even think Nissan seels it without you buying the entire glass with the rubber around it.

All OE quarter glass is sealed with the moulding in place, if you remove it you risk damaging both pieces, requiring a new window.

Heat it up a little with a heat gun until it's pliable and then wedge a stiff piece of wire underneath it, that will hold it up off the body and allow the paint to get behind it. If you've already pulled it free, hope the glass came out too, otherwise break out the wallet.

or use aperature tape, similar to using a piece of stiff wire, but acts as a better wedge
