Speedo's off after manual/SR swap?

Hi. I had an auto S14 240sx which I have converted to manual while swapping in a S13 blacktop SR. The speedo is now reading about double the actual speed I'm going. Is this because I need a manual speed sensor off a S14?

And it's the speedo that determines whether the speed it output in kmph or mph correct? Not the speed sensor? So I can potentially use a manual speed sensor from a JDM S14?

Thanks.

NO, the Sensor puts out a different signal for KPH. Get the 240sx manual speed sensor.

Your problem is you're using an S13 speed sensor to run an S14 gauge. Put your OE sensor back in.

My car does the exact same thing after my 5speed swap! So, the S14 has a different sensor? That would explain it, my incompetent mechanic hardly knows a 240SX from a 240Z......

Correct. S14 VSS should be used for S14 cluster, doesn't matter what motor is in the car.

Ok, I made sure that I did a search for all possible threads before posting on this one. And, Hi btw from a new member.

My 95 240SX has a S13 Blacktop with the S13 Tranny and has a JDM S14 Cluster in it. I am getting double the speed. I recently had a new 95 240SX Speed sensor put in and its still doing double the speed. So what do I do next? Thanks.
