I'm pretty sure the S13's had the same crappy seats. I found a few pics of early 180sx's and they had the same craptastic seats we had..

what makes our seats crappy...besides old age? I mean, are we talking not enough padding? not tight enough?

not enough side bolstering, and odd seat back shape... never been real fond of them.. especially since I sat in a GOOD set of seats.

I think the older 240s (89-90) had better seats than the newer models, more side support, and I think the backrest is a single piece compared to the newer ones w/the adjustable headrest!

the ones in the 89-90 were the ssame seats used in the 91-93 base model cars.. the adjustable headrest thing was an option

I think u ppl are just too big

Us tiny japanese people fit right into the s13 seats okay hehee... although I did sit in a 90 s13 with the cloth seats, and for some reason it didn't feel as good as my leather ones... i'm wondering if material makes any difference, cuz I was sure that the dimensions and all were the same... maybe the stiffer leather adds something? I dunno

My right leg gets stiff after about an hour because of the damn cat hump

Anyway anyone looking for a cheap seat upgrade might want to look at s14 seats.

There is no side support in the s13 seats. I have to hang on to the wheel to keep my dumbass planted on hard corners. I can't imagine what will happen when I get more suspension mods....geesh!
Recaros and Bride racing buckets are just a tad bit out of my price range plus for that kind of money I could get a turbo upgrade

The '96.5-'98 180SX has some different seats that look like re-covered S14 seats.

Also note the S14-like cloth on the door panels and glovebox and the airbag... neat

Oh please...its obvious none of you have ever driven Hondas before. You want a flat seat? Drive my old 2000 Civic Si...that fucking piece didn't have ANY side bolstering and also didnt have any support. The s13 seats are a HUGE step up for me. I love em.

S13 seats are better than a Civic seat, as they should be, but still on the low end of the scale. I preferred the seats in my Neon.. heck, I'd even take S12 seats over S13 seats.

A lot of what makes S13 seats bad is from wear... my passenger seat is fairly comfortable, I plan on swapping the seatbacks side to side when I get some spare time. But going back to my original comment, S12 seats may have been worse to begin with, but they stood the test of time much better.

The Cat hump being right in the middle of the floor is stupid.. they designed the car to be better in RHD format.. and yoshi is probably right.. us americans are too damn big.. at 6'3" I can tell the car wasn't really built for me at all.

I'd 100% agree on the 99-00 Si seats. The only way I don't fit in a car w/ a greenhouse that size is if I'm sitting on a lawnchair (which is exactly how those seats felt).

I think the s13 is a TAD better than the s14 for fit, but the s14 seats are soooo much better. Especially after you modify them by removing padding (which killed me a$$ on a drive to NY last week ).

Now, reason for reply - Considering they don't even have the extra cat in Japan, that hump is just there out of spite! (it hurts my ankles to drive more than 45 minutes in my car&#33
