Chargespeed widebody.....couple questions?
Actually just more of a reassurance type deal....I'm heading to Enjuku this Friday to pick up a set of CS 20mm front fenders as well as at the end of the month...going to be picking up the 50mm rears....
I was wondering from the folks that have dealt with or are running there fenders......how is the fitment? Great, good......not so great (lots of custom work?). -Bill

i have worked with every type of fiberglass / poly junk i think, and w/ the rears i have installed.. best to do
- MATCH the wheel wells. - IF you want a slam'd look, match the wheel wells then sit lower... and so forth. ====== YES rivets is best first, to check for fitment, rubbing, and so forth. Dont forget to cut your fender if you decide to go with extremely wide rims/tires. We got the 30mm rear fenders for a s13, and made it fit 19x11. ====== FRONT FENDERS - Mount on to see where to drill - ENSURE fitment before drilling. HOLD IT IN PLACE - Get a sharpie/paint pen, and mark your holes - Drill and mount ========== As for fitment problems, the authentic CS should be like 240 or so, and those fit great. When you get to the ones i sell, copies, then it will fit good 90%, but you might have to get a bodyshop to refinish a little. |

Rivets will hold it in place alot better than just bondoing it in.
Honestly tho, if your gonna run rear over fenders, you might as well do it right by cutting the stock fenders and having all the room in the world. What we did with my roomates car is this...we cut the outter panel roughly 2 inches up. Once you do that, you basically have a gap between the inner panel and the outer. Pull the inner up and weld it into the outer piece. Cut and smooth out the over lapping pieces (doesnt have to be pretty since itll be covered by the overfender). Rivet the overfenders and you can bondo it to smooth it out if you want. |

Well as far as I have seen, the fronts are a bolt on deal...no drilling involved seeing as how they are a full replacement.
That is what I had in mind with regards to the rears...is cutting out fenderwell (doing it right) and mounting with rivets then bondoing over..... Now I just have to find the wheels that'll fill em up.....I'm thinking Volk GT-N's....18x10 up front and 18x11 out back....woot!!!! -Bill

punxva, i wasn't attacking you, i just have never heard of someone straight bondoing wide fenders on, that is just gangster and asking for troubles. i didn't realize you were distinguishing between the two in your orginal post.
my brother riveted and molded his in and they look awesome. definitely start by riviting them on even if you mold them in. |

11s are overkill, 10s with proper offset (roughly -5 or -10) will be more than adequate. 10s upfront, i cant say nothing cuz im running 17x10s all around. Only thing with 10s up front is you will more than likely be having rubbing issues somewhere, specially at full turn... |

1. No, I am not running stock fenders. I have 50mm overfenders molded in & had the gas cap/cover/lid made to sit flush w/ the fenders so that is looks almost stock (I didn't want it to be real obvious). 2. I do have some more pics. I can post some up later, but for now I'll just post my cardomain link: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2064334 3. The wheels are Racing Hart R5 Pro in 19X9 & 19X10.5, I can't remember the offset though.

To answer your other question front fender fitment wise, chargespeed front fenders are prolly one of the better fitting sets out there over origin or version select. Dont know how AIT fenders are but if imma base it on how they theyre kits are, id say origin or vers are better than AIT.

i got a pair of fenders from Raceonusa... and ive never seen fiberglass that poorly made. looked like it was hand made without any type of mold, they were cracked, scratched, broken, warped, you name it. needless to say i sent them back.. so far im screwed out of the money, (been 3 weeks w/o anything in return) and got OEMs.. good luck with yours!
