trouble starting under cold conditions

Ok first things first i have a s14 black top in a s14 chassis . My car runs rich ..... this i know . I am maybe leaning towards coolant temp sensor or maybe my idle air control valve . I checked the idle air and basically adjusted the rpm lower cause it was around 1-1300 rpm . The car has brand new denso iridiums.... i am gonna check to make sure they are the right plugs as i did not do the swap. From what i am thinking i may have a cold start injector going out and just flooding the engine . As i start the car it has fuel as i can hear the walbro ... kick in ... and i turn the car over and it tries and tries like its flooded and when i wait another 2 min then crank the car up it fires fine but then idles at like 1500-2k rpm for like 5 minutes as if the car is 10 degrees out . Now i am in georgia and the weather at 7 :00 is like 45 - 50 degress out ... any suggestions people ?

This may not be any help to you but, I am in Gadsden so the weather is about the same here as it is there. In my SR when the temp is below 50 it does not want to idle smoothly until the temp is 100 or above. I never move the car until the water temp is at least 130 and I usually wait until it is 160. But that was the way my engine was designed to run best. I usually do not have any problem cranking it in cold weather and i have iridums as well.

dont mess with the idle just yet if you have other problems.need to be corrected before you set the timming then just the idle.you might have a short on the fuel pump signal to the ecu?not enough grounding?you can try to hotwire it.dont keep cranking the engine flooding your cylinders with fuel and wash down to the crankcase.

Yeah i think it may be a fuel pump problem . The jack ass who wired my car up bypassed the fuel pump relay so basically when the fuel pump is on ... I had a buddy look at the ecu because one of the pins looked burnt and sure enough it was so i think he burnt the ecu and now he rigged the fuel pump as well . But I am doing the aem fuel management very soon which will replace the ecu ... so should i pretty much just say screw it or try and re wire the whole fuel pump issue .
