The b&m is just too stiff in my opinion. I sold mine shortly after I got mine. I'd rather use my sloppy stock shifter, especially for drifting.

I really like mine. I have a V1 in my race car and I had a V2 in my daily for a while. The V1 is either looser or more worn in cause its a lot "sloppier." thats not to say that its not short or tight, but in comparison to the V2 its loose. I really like it, better than the V2. It is loud as crap, but its a race car so I dont give a crap.

B&M. Its super short, and super notchy. Its so short, that its like pushing a stiff button. Its like youre not even shifting a manual trans. I hate B&M shifters with a passion.

C's or Nismo shifters are great. Stay away from those eBay knock offs. I bought one - lo and behold, it doesn't work. How retarded do you have to be to fail at making an exact replica of something as basic as a shifter?! I know Chinese imitations are crap, but there needs to be a line drawn!

The MKII off ebay is the shiznat. I've had different shortshifters on my s13 and this one feels the best. The MKII is a B&M knockoff, it looks almost identical but the backplate is black instead of blue. I got mine for 80 bucks shipped, they are very easy to find and always on ebay. I recommend these to everyone and for 80 bucks how can you go wrong?

This, as with almost everything interior wise is 100% opinion. A lot of people like the stiring butter feel of the stock shifter, while I myself like the super notchie and short feel of the B&M. Best bet is to find someone near you with one and see if you like it.

I don't know where people get that the B&M is too short. Yes, it does feel too short compared to stock, but we all know what stock feels like...jello. Drive on the B&M long enough and it will feel long again. As for stiffness, when I first got mine, I thought it was too stiff as well but that was because it was new. Once it is broken in, it feels really good with just enough feedback when shifting. I like mine, but what I did not like was the price...

That is what you call a savvy ebayer making their money on ignorant children, simple as that. Let's start with the seller's name, "rhdjapan," and now let's have a look into the main line of the auction:
"NISMO Solid Short Shifter 180SX Silvia S13 S14 S15 CA18
SR20DET CA18DET SR20DE 200SX 240SX Nissan Drift D1 GP"
(yes, that was a copy and paste)
he is looking to get the ca$hola off of one of these new drift kiddies looking to get nismo parts that do not exist. My understanding, if I remember it correctly, is that Nismo does NOT make the short shifter, C's did and it was rebadged.

So, is there an actual Nissan part number for a rebadged C's shifter, or is it a complete scam?

We've been over this before, but I'm bored.

Nissan Motorsports sells the C's shifter, so most Nissan dealers can order it through them. The C's is a true short throw unit, but it is not a Nissan item.

Nismo Japan also makes a replacement shifter, but it is NOT short throw, it's called a 'solid' shifter because it has a heavier lever and ball, making shift engagements more precise. It does not shorten throws. That comes straight from the Nismo Japan catalog.

The link you provided is for the Nismo unit, they're probably unaware that it's not a short throw because 99% of replacement shifters made for most cars are designed for shorter throws, very rarely are there just heavier units produced with stock throw. This is backed up by the fact that you yourself thought it was a short throw unit, as do most people who look into the Nismo piece.

I can vouch for the Nismo shifter. It's meant to improve shift feel, not reduce shift distance.

I like the B&M v2. I'm just not a big fan of doing all the c-clip work. Also the B&M moves the pivot point. The others put more stress on the tranny.

sorry but that wasnt very clear. Does a nismo solid shifter have a shorter throw than stock? I've heard something like a 20% shorter throw than stock. Is this true?
