Trouble: Car runs extremely rich, won't idle.

I have a 1993 hatch with a stock KA, that was running fine until it started stumbling/missing at idle and running poorly.

I checked the plugs/wires/cap, and all were okay. The cylinder 1 is mis-firing, and I replaced the fuel injector with a spare that I had. It is odd as it was coming and going, however now, it is much more apparent, and is smoking a tremendous amount, and won't stay running. I've checked compression, and all cylinders have ~150psi cranking compression.

possibly

bad injector
bad injector wiring (grounded open)
bad injector o-ring and subsequent mis-installation (most likely)

wouldn't a bad injector O-ring leak? there are no leaks. It is running pig rich on all cylinders. I have even disconnected the spark plug/ injector from hole 1, and it still runs the exact same, meaning that the miss doesn't worsen, and the richness doesn't go away. Could the injector be stuck open?
