I noticed that NASA (National Auto Sport Assn.) has spread to your neck of the woods w/ an OH/IN division.

I'm a member in the VA region and do track days and autoxes w/ the group. If out there is anything like it is here, it is a great place to hone your skills and use your car for what it was meant for!

NASA offers High Performance Driving Education events (HPDEs) that a chance to get out and drive a track w/o needing a roll cage and a nomex suit! They also have great instructors who will help you become a better driver. HPDEs are a great stepping stone b/n autox and full fledge wheel-to-wheel racing.

There are some track days already lined up, including the new Beaver Run track outside Pittsburgh. While the website is small now, it will be updated soon. Check 'em out:

looks like i'm the only one that cares about this mark, and i live about 700 miles away. what is this board coming to? MCSCC is thinking about expanding into that market as well, but some people think it will fail because like you said, NASA just got in the game. always good to see any motorsports association succeed though.

hey! i'm in!

I have heard they have just finished paving the north course and kart track over at The Beaver. That track is a bit over an hour from my house and I'm looking forward to doing an event there. If you guys are heading up to any tracks here in the Ohio area, let me know!!

mbmbmb - not me. I live in Falls Ch. anyway.

tnord - don't dispair... at the rate NASA is growing, it will come to you soon

skilla - thanks. I always try to get new stuff up when I see it.

bbp - yup - north course and the kart track are done. There is an event planned for Sept 7? Prices are supposed to be cheap! Not sure about facilities, etc. but a group of us were thinking about treking up there to check out the new digs. 300 mi. for me - but hey - a new track is always fun! At any event, if I head up or you do, we should pow wow - just in case.
