i got an email from another lady who had a white 240SX about a year ago.
here is one i got yesterday. oh ya, ma'am, if you're reading this, i'm not makin fun of you. it's just kinda.. cool.

James, what a marvelous thing E-mail is...just got it myself last March. I'm
53 years old. Bought a '90 240SX new...12 years ago...she's midnight pearl
blue. (or something like that - can't remember the exact shade without
pulling the paperwork out of the file).
At any rate, I have held onto this baby blue thing for all these years.
Drove her 2 winters before I realized she would never make it up my driveway
after work and a 12" snowfall (lake effect off Lake Ontario, Rochester, NY).
So, have garaged her the past 10 years and only take her out in the summer
months. Am so terribly fond of her - never dreamed that there were any
websites of 240SX owners until a co-worker, who has a '76 MG said he looked
on-line and found one for his car.... So.......punched in 240sx nissan into
Google and came up with your site and others.
Just had to send a note - Love your site - sort of a rush (well, I'm older,
remember?) seeing cars JUST LIKE MINE!!!!!!! to view...
My baby blue is near mint as far as interior and body, haven't upgraded
any suspension, whatever....she's original. Just recently had a rust spot
removed and rebuilt...and she has 60,000 miles and rests in the garage in
the winter. We have a 'Parkway' that parallels the S. shore of Lake Ontario
here. I like to take her out and blow out the cobwebs (at 80 mph, that's
all) once in a while. I know you guys are all so young.....but, just
wanted to write you a note to say that I am really attached to this car.
Signed,
The Little Old Lady From Pasadena (did you folks like the Beachboys??)
- otherwise you wouldn't have ever heard of that song !!
Bonnie from Rochester NY

----------------------------
the cliff notes:

Older lady bought a 240SX 12 years ago
drove it through two harsh winters, then garaged most of the time.
she has the same love for her car like we do, and she didn't realize so many other people did too until she found the world famous 240sx.whateverjames.com (shameless plug?)
she likes to take it out and run it hard. you know, to bring back the feeling the 240SX can give you.
and rochester, ny winters suck. (well, she didn't say that, but it's pretty obvious&#33

i wanted to suggest she install a kaaz limited slip differential for that horrible snowy season, but i dunno

Cool! Good to see someone outside our age group (sub 20's to early 30's) that doesn't view cars as simple trasportation to get from point A to point B.

That's really cool of her to email you
Even cooler is that she drives it like it should be driven but respects it. The beachboys reference is a good indication too, now I'll think of some lady in a 240sx when I hear that song everyday at work.
That just made my day for some reason

we should all welcome her to the forum, a 53 year old woman with tons of love for the 240 is exactly what we need here. imagine she started a thread here, i dont hink anyone would flame or swear or make any retarded remarks... it would be crazy

I always get a chuckle when I see youngsters surprised that us old folks can be car nuts too.

That lady is not much older than me.

I would just like to remind you that old people love Nissans because they remember when they were our age, (or a bit younger...depending on your age.. I'm 16) The first Japanese Sports cars showed up...and the Z's were fuckin serious. My dad who now owns the shittest F150 owner ever had an RX-7 and then a 1990 300zx TT (bought it in 1990 too... such a waste of money because he sold it the next year) always talks about how at first people in America hated Japanese cars but then began to see cars like the Z's and they became all the rage. Those Datsun Z's really are what keptNissan moving past the economy car area (although they still have a bit left in) and into the supreme elite super awesome (thinking of as many good adjectives as I can) class that they are in now..
And I own a mazda... lol...

JE is right. The Z really put the Nissan/Datsun on the map. My next car is gonna be a 260Z. God those cars are GEORGOUS (sp) But I think its really cool that other people aside people in their 20's have an intrest in our cars. There are a few older people in my area that have S14's (1 red 95 or 96 1 more black one, and 1 black S14a) all of them are probably +40-45. I've tried to flag a couple of them down, but they probably just think im trying to car jack them. Hope she can come around and hang out on the board, let her know shes definately welcome here
