S13 Antenna Problem.

Yea guys I took out my old power antenna rod and am looking to replace it. The rod itself has only the plastic piece which is used to raise and lower the antenna. If there is no actual wire in this long piece of metal then could I just replace it with anything? I tried putting random long objects in the hole but found that the only thing that really worked was when I touched the hole or the object when it was in the hole. Why is my body getting such good reception and besides going to nissan for a new pole what options do you guys suggest on replacing this thing?

Where did you get those autobody plugs man? I searched Napa, autozone, and discount. Anybody know where to get an autobody plug or a rubber fitting that would fit into the antenna hole and be kinda flush with the car body?

I took mine out. Covered the hole with vinyl tape and have another antenna hooked up and in the cpillar area behind the panel. It works ok. But I don't listen to the stations much. MP3 player FTW

At least you guys have a retracting antenna!!! LOL. People say it looks like my car is an RC car because of it. Stupid antenna, I want to rip it out. I have my iPod hooked up in there, so I dunno why I even have it still.

Lol kinda sorta. Its basically a normal house with a wood structure, except on the outside its layered tons with chicken wire, cement and stucco lol. Its like 4 inches thick!
The greenhouse (on the right) is all cinder(sp?) block and cement though. Too bad I live in New Mexico and have a Washington plate lol.

HAH!!! Yeah I used to see those style homes when I lived in New Mexico.
The plate threw me off too.

My antenna is wierd. It looks like it's a retractable one, but since the previous owner saw fit to bite the stereo end off.....it's never worked. It's cool though, it's down out of my way and I never listen to the radio anyways, hate the damn commercials.

Like the black hatch.....man I miss my old S14.....a black beauty.

no antenna looks better...if you take it out and still want all your radio stations, all you have to do is, where the antenna plug goes into the harness for the radio...unplug it (it has 2 prongs) flip it around and plug it back in. It works fine for me i have every radio station static free.

Yeah, I kept my car registered in Washington (I gifted it over to my dad) lol. That way I dont have to worry about two things. 1) I dont have to worry about registering it down here in Albuquerque and worry about the stupid laws here for modified cars, and 2) My dads house is outside of city limits so there is no emissions needed for my car! yayyy lol. I had racingbeat header and presilencer with GReddy power extreme catback on my RX-7 when I was here last, and all the cops tried to give me crap but they couldnt lol

Dirty, when you took the antenna out (did you have a non-retractable one like me?), did you plug the hole that the antenna goes into? I thought about just unscrewing it, but I didnt want any water to get into the inside of my car
