Unhappy Boom! Ka24de Is No More! Help!!!!

I have a 97 240 and tonight on the way home from work the stock engine breathed it's last breath. I was on the highway doing about 75mph and it started losing power, then heating up and then it started to stink, it made some pretty horrible noises, much like an angry midget with a hammer, and then died. This couldn't have happened at a worse time. I have about $200 dollars to my name and the car isn't even paid for yet. I'm begging! if anyone knows where i can either get an SR or another KA for cheap i'd be greatful. also, the car's an auto and i'd really like to change that but since i'm going to have to get loans to do all this i need it cheap as possible. Any help on this would be great. I need some guidence on the swap. I have some tech knowledge but no expierience. ANYTHING! I'M DESPARATE!

If you don't have much money to go with a new engine. I think it's best for you to swap in another KA into the car..just to get it running again. If you want to look for another KA then go to the sale section and look around. You can also post in Want To Buy section. Swapping a KA out and a new one in is very easy. If you want more info on it then use the search button on the top. You can also use the search button to look for a KA around you. I hope that help you out. Good luck!

Search your area for junkyards then once you find a yard with a good engine rent a uhaul truck or borrow a pickup and go get it. Some junkyards (like Pull-a-part here in NC) will warranty certain parts.

Ouch >.< This sounds like another oil deprived KA.

he needs OBD2 ka, he doesnt need to deal with the wiring. This should have been a wanted ad in the classifieds. Good luck and consider a swap that will give you good results (SR/RB/LS1)

he doesn't need an OBD2 KA. Just any KA and use all the manifolds that are already in the car.

If you take time and watch for deals you can find a whole KA for 400 bucks. Swapping it would cost a weekend and beer/food for your friends.
