Starter Signal Fuse

95 S14
S20DET

I was driving home last night when all of a sudden my car lost power. All my accessories were on but the engine shut off. I found that my Starter Signal fuse was blown. I replaced it with the closest fuse to the original I could find, a 10 (the original fuse was a 7.5). The car drove for about 500 feet and lost power again. So I checked my harnesses to make sure nothing was grounding out and replaced the fuse again. This time as soon as the key got to the ACC position before I even cranked the car I saw the fuse blow. The car cranks even with the fuse blown but it doesn't turn over. I checked the starter connections to make sure no wires were touching, and most of my harness, but I cannot figure out what is going on. Its on the side of the road so its hard to really work on it, and Im stranded in Delaware. Using my wireless laptop to see if anyone can give me some help.

Unplug the ECU and see if the fuse still blows, if not then it's engine harness related, either a bad EGI relay or something in the injector harness.

Thanks. Two things that may have something to do with this also. Earlier in the day my wipers came on by themselves. I had to turn the car off then restart it, then they stopped. I also had to replace my fuse for my corner, tail and dash lights. Would these issues indicate where the problem may be or is the injector harness still be my best bet? Thanks again R240NA.

Completely unrelated unless you have an alternator or battery problem and it's trickling out slowly to each circuit. Check to see if the battery cables are tight and the ground on the chassis is well secured, then check the alternator for a loose terminal.

COTBU is the man!! He came out to see if he could help me. I had so much luggage in my trunk including a spare differential that it cut through some wires in the back. They were grounded out on some metal in the trunk. Thanks Snoop, and R240NA for the help.
