j30 lsd oil
Just wondering has anyone every try using pennzoil synchromesh transmission oil on a j30 lsd, since its a clutch type lsd? just wondering if that's a good choice of oil to use on a j30 lsd?

If it is 80w-90, I'd say use it.
I thought the j30 had a viscous LSD, which has clutches inside but they don't bathe in the diff oil, they are packed in the viscous fluid which can't be changed. Is this correct? |

^^^ Correct...J30 is a viscous LSD (VLSD).and the viscous unit is SEALED, so fluid has no effect on the limited slip performance...it used to lube the gears ONLY.
Synchromesh is trans fluid (GL-4)...not a GL-5 gear oil. You need to use GL-5...Mobil 1 is great stuff...80w90 - Brian
