![]() so about a month ago my car started to vibrate really bad when going to about 35 mph. went to my boys shop put it on the lift and it seemed that the culprit was the tranny mount. changed it today with a peak performance mount but the vibration is still there and now its worse cuz of the stiff mount. wtf could it be? motor mounts? dunno if the motors mounts are to blame, when parked and i rev it the motor doesnt move. it doesnt move when i turn it on either. the mounts i have are polyurethane filled stock mounts. help pls before i go crazy

Does it matter what gear at 35? Alignment and wheel balance. Check for any loose suspension bolts. Maybe driveshaft as well?

driveshaft is a one piece aluminum. we tried putting the rear wheels in the front and it was still there. it does not matter wat gear im in. after 35 mph the vibration starts and if im in neutral at or above 35 mph its still there

if it's not rev or gear dependent, then it has to do with your suspension or wheels/tires. When you put the car on a lift, can you move either of the front tires side to side with your hands? Seems to me like if it started suddenly, and occurs at such a low speed (relatively), it's a broken/stripped end on a tie rod/tension rod/etc. Check all the end links, and I bet you'll find it there.
If the vibration is not in the steering wheel, but with the whole car, check the same things in the rear.

There are countless threads about vibrations. I work at a dealership and deal with these kind of things daily, but on here it takes 20+ post to come to a conclusion.
-Wheels out of balance, seperated or cupped tires, bent rims, mud, dirt, snow, ice in rims causes the most common vibration. -Driveshaft center carrier bushing also causes vibrations. -CV axles can cause vibrations under load or torque, same with severly worn suspension components. -If it is a problem with the front 2 wheels it will be most noticeable in the steering wheel -A problem with the rear tires will be most noticeable in the seat of the car, although a problem with the rear tires can also be noticed in the steering wheel. -Alignment being out will not cause vibrations -Suspension components worn are usually the last cause of a vibration, but not always. My .02cents

i got new front lower control arms last year from pdm racing so its not that. the vibration is not in the steering wheel, its the whole car, the whole car vibrates so much that i cant hear the radio when driving at 50 mph. its like a fast vibration but strong . i will try to put on different wheels and see if that helps, hopefully it'll be that easy. being that the driveshaft is one piece we can rule out the center carrier bushing. any more ideas will be greatly appreciated. oh and the suspension doesnt feel all that bad, i cant take turns at the same speed as i used to. i am in need of an alignment though

Don't make assumptions that if its new, its not messing up, bad insallation or premature wear on something could occur randomly, just check everything.
Try your stock driveshaft if you have it, if it doesnt help, that you narrow it down even further and diagnose it.

glad we got ya straightened out ~ usually a driveshaft problem is speed dependent, but I can see how the vibration might be so bad you don't notice it getting worse as you accelerate. Anyhow, this thread turned out to be a good reference for anyone elses "bad vibes" - get it? (sorry, REALLY bad joke =P)
