KA24DET-On a S13?

I've done some saving and have decided to try to turbo my ka. . only thing is I want it street legal, and i see that the only one that is, is the Greddy brand.
When i was inquiring about the turbo i realized that it says "from 95-98"

my question is: Can I still put the turbo on as long as I have a KA24DE? or is the sizing or what not too small/big for the space in there?

I have a S13, and I'm just worried that things might go wrong. I have the SOHC engine right now, but I have get a rebuilt KA24DE with me (Everything needed included)

Thanks for the help guys, I'm really in need of help on this one

Its not gonna be legal dude.

Its not designed for for s13, so, while it may fit and work...technically, it hasta be on an s14 to be legal. Even then...i beleive the turbo kit for the s14 is still only pending? someone correct me on that.

The greddy turbo kit is not street legal. It's been pending for so long now. I doubt it will ever happen.

If they ever do legalize it, for s13 you'd have to run a 96-98 KA with all associated smog equipment.

I was under the impression you could swap for a newer engine legally as long as you used all the emissions systems that the newer engine was designed for. Or is that what you were saying at the end there?

That still upsets me. Even if you did get your turbo'd KA running clean enough to pass a sniffer it's still illegal... talk about BS.

Of course i know all that BS with legalities . . .(CA laws suck huh?)

Just confirming a story my friend told me about his SR.

He was once pulled over and the cop made him pull his hood. Of course he saw the SR and all the other crap in there. He fined my friend and told him to get it fixed. He didnt take the car away right then and there. Well my friend really had 2 choices, fix it and take it to some inspector. or pay another additional fine in full. He paid the fine, and i guess it was as if he didnt get pulled over for it cause he got off scott free. no one cops hastled him. anyways he told me as long as they don't catch you racing the car and doing something very reckless, they can't take away your car, just fine you. I'm not entirly sure this is true, can you guys input?

if this is the case then im way more comfy getting that SR swap..

Eh, CA laws? No clue.

In NC I used to just double up the fee for inspection and get my inspection tag... talk about the quickest inspection ever =D

"Yup, four wheels!"

Blah, blah, blah.

The greddy s14 kit will fit on a s13. Just need to find out the right wires when you're wiring in the emanage.

Putting 95(obd1)96-98(obd2) ka in your car is legal as long as you keep the corresponding smog equipment. That IS legal.
The turbo kit is NOT legal.

Blah, blah, blah.

Isn't the later 95 KA obd2? Thought there were two revisions of the 95's.
