tire sizes

ok guys i just bought these wheels. they are 17x8 +16 front and 17x9 +11 rear. what tire size would be recommended for these. i really dont want to roll my fenders, but if i need to i would.. i was thinking about 225/40 up front and 245/40 in the rears.. does that sound reasonable? thanks for the input- kouvang

Sizes are perfect, buy them now. I'm assuming s14 because if that was an s13 you might have to do some work to get them to fit. Now go buy tires.

i'd do 215/45or40/17 front and 235/40/17 rear. You'll have a little stretch for some style points. Roll the fenders and add a spacer up front to make the wheels flush. Rear won't need a spacer.

i'm with flybert... the 225/40 up front will be shorter than the 245/40 for the rear....

so get 225/45. My mistake, I diddnt even recognise that. Cut the shit with the stupid stretched. 245 on a 9 isnt near what the rim can handle.

I dont really like the look of stretched tires. Also these are to be going on a daily driven car and the roads here arent the best. Soo.. having 225/45 up front and 245/40 in the rears are the recommended sizes.. What about having 245/45 in the rears, is that ok? thanks- kouvang

I did use to run 235/45 17's on my Rx7 though

They came with the car and lasted a while so I ran em. Definitely were kinda large and donutish.

Not only are you going to have to roll your rear fenders, you're going to have to pull them to clear. As for the fronts, you can probably get away with just rolling them.
