lets see ca=175hp, 1.8T.....$1600 clip
is this a compliced swap? i really want a turbocharged car so would this be the swap? then we have rb20=215hp 2.0T....$1000 clip is this a compliced swap? and the sr20....more expensive? i really want to go turbo and i want it to be rare too. like a ca or rb. i dont want to put down crazy hp but a 13-low 14 sec 1/4 would be nice |

I wanna know too! Is the CA worth the effort? Can it be modded much? Never knew about the RB20DET though. Will the tranny work out okay? I bet wiring will be a pain in the ass. I would find someone (like a shop) that has done it. I would hate to be the first guy to do something like that.
I really want to know though. That is cheap as hell for a clip. Where are the prices from? Jeff

Please look in the FAQ for facts and specs on the CA18DET. There is some REALLY interesting stuff in there.
The RB20DET is NOT a direct bolt in, and will require custom mounts, and wiring, and custom intake piping, etc... Remember this is a Skyline motor, not a S-chassis motor.

exactly what chimp said...
if you get the CA, dont' expect to be able to find parts easily for it, and the RB is a skyline motor... and an much older one... don't expect to find parts for it either without waiting a while... the SR is actually in america in it's FF form, so many of the parts are switchable. Everyone agrees/agreed that teh CA was a great motor, it just wouldn't be very realistic to have in the states, unless it was a race-only car. The RB would require even more work... either way, to have one of these engines in a daily driver would definitely not be the best idea, but as a 2nd car would make a good project. Where's CA18guy? he's all about the CA <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=' ![]() |
