Should I buy an S13 black top and leave the internals alone? Or buy a Red Top and upgrade the internals? Would the aftermarket internals be stronger than the Black Top internals?
And Stock vs Stock what boost can these engines take(assuming that fuel & turbo can go however high you want them to)? |

13 to 15 psi on both the red and black top. Running it that high though will add a lot of wear to the engine. I'd run mine around 13.
Stock internals are good to 350 rwhp. You can run at 400 rwhp, but at that point, you're putting lots of wear on the engine. Aftermarket internals will improve that drastically. |

the s13 blacktop, and the redtop are exactly the same except for the valve cover. the blacktop may have less miles though.
