Hard or no start
alright well my car is incredibly hard to start when it is cold. it will just turn over and nothing will happen. If i spray a little carb cleaner in the intake it will sometimes start and i will have to work with the gas and keep it above 2500 or it will die, but sometimes it wont start and it will just popple a few times and then do nothing unless i spray more something in the intake, and other times i try like 10 times and i give up because nothing happens. if i can get it started, when it warms up alittle bit it is fine and idles perfect. my question is what would make it start this hard. I know it is like 25°F out but that shouldn't make it so it doesn't start. After the car is warm if i shut it off it fires right back up with no problem at all. Thanks for the help
It is a 1990 SOHC 5spd |

Check the vacuum line going to the fuel pressure regulator along with the vacuum lines running from the carbon cannister to the intake & the gas tank. It sounds like you have vapor lock but that shouldn't happen to your car.
http://www.misterfixit.com/vaprlock.htm For the times where your engine does not want to start, try pulling the spark plugs & verify that you are getting fuel in the combustion chamber. If you are, then check your EGR valve - make sure it is not sticking. Try the aforementioned & see if it helps. ID
