This is what I did to an 89 240, if it helps:

Spark plugs, Spark plug wires, Distributor Cap, Rotor, Air Filter, Check Belts, Check Hoses, Check Vaccumm Lines, Check Water in Battery, Check/Fill Brake/Power Steering/Windshield Washer/Oil/Transmission fluids, Grease lube points, Fuel Filter, PCV Valve, O2 Sensor, Flush/Refill Radiator Fluid, Drain/Fill Differential Oil, Finally pull the ECU Codes to make sure that everything is running right. If you need exact specs a chilton repair manual tells exactly what needs to be done when.

That sounds good to me I'm gona hit 60k probably tomorrow and I'm needing to do some of that I guess.

Only think I felt I ought to correct was you said to check/fill brake fluid. You should not add brake fluid. If it's low, that means your brake pads are wearing down, allowing the calipers to clamp down farther, allowing more fluid in the lines, thus less in the reservoir. If your brake light comes on (and it does when your fluid gets too low) then you need to change your brake pads...not add fluid. If your light isn't on but you top off your fluid, you will not know then your pads need to be replaced until they start scraping. I know because I've done it

Yes, but after 60k miles, it's still a good idea to replace your fluid.

Went to NISSAN and the service tech told me that I did not need to change my differential fluid (drain/fill back up).

Also, they charge 70something for the Transmission fluid change. (drain/fill clean pan & filter).

What do you guys think about this???

My question was though ... should I listen to the NISSAN service dude, and not get it changed or what?

How hard is it to do yourself?

well changin the engine oil is probly the most basic thing you can do of the 3, the diff oil is somewhat difficult while its still in the car, but can be done. And the trans oil for me was the most difficult. You can pick up a chilton book or something equal(repair manual) at like kragen or autozone and that would guide you thru all of them. If your not the hands on do it yourselfer, take it to a shop.

Okay I finished my tune-up, and only thing I didn't do myself was Trans and differential change.

Transmission drain/fill, clean pan, filter - cost $61.08

Tomorrow I am going to the local shop to get my differential done, dont know exactly how much that is going to cost yet-
