No spark. Help.

Ok, heres the deal.

Before removing all my turbo components from my car, it ran. Perfectly.

After I removed all the turbo components from my vehicle here are the steps I took:

Rewired stock MAFS

installed stock intake / exhuast

installed 97 manual ECU

installed stock injectors

Now, I get no spark. I removed each individual plug and checked with the plug on the block while I cranked the engine.

NOTHING ELSE WAS CHANGED.

The only thing I can imagine possibly wrong is the ECU. I was using a 95 ecu before but I DID NOT repin the harness.

The engine cranks, but does not fire.

NO wiring was changed except the MAFS.

I've got a few other ECUs to try..

I didn't unplug anything other than the two connectors near the TB.. but I replugged them in.

The ECU I have in there now (with the car not starting) was pulled from a wrecked car.. but I saw the car working 3 weeks prior.

The car has NO functional EGR components on it.
Rear 02 is NOT installed.
It used to be Auto but I swapped it yeearrrss ago.
Plugs are NOT fouled.
Injector clips are snug.
MAFS wiring is correct.

None of the cylinders are sparking.

if the harness is 100% correct (I'd at least pin out the injector pins), then it's got to be the ECU... if you've got another ecu layin around, play the swap game.

Well what I mean with that stuff is that.. JimWolf says to repin my 97 harness to fit a 95 ECU.. but if you look carefully at it.. its only a few EGR and AC things that are different..

I ran a 95 ECU no problem and I never touched any pins. (Car is a 97)

see if you have power running to the ecu and dizzy.... check the voltage on the power wires... mainly see if the ecu has power also... think about it... u turn the ignition on with the key there has to be a flow of positive current throughout the car.. and where theres a short in the system, then that would locate ur problem.... ill get back to you soon about this..

the starter is not the issue... its having power to ur ecu and ignition, once u have ur key turned. thats the main idea... a engine can turn its engine but itll run rough(efi) once it starts up.. this is because of bad pick ups(sensors) either they are faulty or Disconnected. know what i mean?

just find out if ur main start up things are having an issues..

give me a call if u get lost evan...

PROBLEM FOUND!

What is EGI? Where does it ground? I'm blowing the 7.5A fuses all day long. I put in a 10A and blew that one too. The 15A made everything all better. However, I'd still like to trace the source of the problem.

FSM has no EGI in the index but its ignition something.

i believe EGI stands for Electronic Gas Injection.

it seems to be linked to the MAF.

Aight.. but what the fuck is EGI? And where does it get a bad ground from?

I can't find shit on the circuit diagram in the FSM.
takes like 5 seconds of cranking before the car wants to start..
