subs, diffs and alot of fun

ok, this may sound relatively newb but i would rather accept the bashing than rip apart my '95 240se and be left with nothing...

whats going on is im replacing my subframe and i have a few questions, i may have come across an entire rear end (sub frame, axles, arms, vlsd, etc.)...

well first off i have the 6 bolt axles from the open diff and i would like to know if if i could still use the axles somehow with the vlsd, my understanding is that the viscous is a 5 bolt

also, i have the 5 lug and i just need to know if its a simple matter of bolting the 5 lug hub in place of the four...

finally is there any gearing difference between the auto trans diff and the manual trans diff?

yeah bash me all you want but i appreciate all the help i could get... thnx!

I'd bash you, but I can't read that garbled up one huge ass sentence without a bit of proper punctuation to know what you're asking.

theres no need to change your subframe. unless its bent? and you cant use the 6bolt axels. thats why they gave you the five bolt. and as for the hubs Ive never converted them

Hmm. I'll try my hand at this one...

You don't need to swap your subframe for any reason unless you destroyed it in some mad tyte drifto action.

Not all vlsd's are 5bolt.

You have five lug what from what? You're too vague.

There is no diff, "No pun intended" between the at/mt rear ends. Only reason why it wouldn't work is if the pumpkin came out of a car with/without abs.

Damn, I'm the shit.

a s14 vlsd is 6 bolt. The 5 bolt you speak of is most likely out of an infinity J30, which will also work(provided you have axles)

EDIT- If the subframe you have HAS a 5 bolt in it, what is it out of?

Wow, this could be answered by the old age SEARCH.

Search terms for you:

S14 Subframe swap

VLSD 5 bolt

S14 5 lug conversion
