XAT Racing

XAT Racing = Fail
This review is long overdue, I have withheld my opinions on this shop because I don't wish to have any negativity with such a local place but its about time I voice my experience out.

I should have never have gotten my swap done by XAT. No offense, people are trying to make money doing something they love, I understand that.

The swap I payed for included
Sr20det
Greddy VSPL FMIC
Greddy type S BOV
Walbro 255 fuel pump
MBC
full 3 inch catback
downpipe
resurfaced flywheel.
electric fans

You know what I got?
sr20det
greddy vspl fmic with NO BOV on the piping, NO MBC and as I later found out, after having the car break up under 11 psi and higher, there was no Walbro 255. There was no full 3 inch and as soon as we separated the transmission from the motor, oh wow that flywheel has never been touched. The electric fans were ghetto rigged and the radiator was on its last leg.

When I contacted them about the issue of the bov and mbc, the best they could do was say "well we can sell you a greddy profec at a discount price" The discount was something ridiculously small like around $40. Later, when we discovered the fuel starving issues after hooking up the profec-II, I called you about the walbro, you said you'd send it out. 4 Days later I call to check the shipping status, "OH I'll send it out today" as if it had been forgotten.

7 months later, $1,000+ poorer, I am actually CLOSE to having my car to the actual level the swap I payed for promised.

Whats worse is that I bought the car+swap when I knew a lot less than I do now. I drove the car with a staff member in it who actually had me believe the compressor surge = bov, this is not good business guys.

I don't like having to post this type of a review on a shop but really, the bov, the mbc, the not-full 3 inch piping, the junkyard fans, the wiring on the fans? (later failing and causing the car to overheat) The walbro?

You basically threw an sr with the gredddy vspl fmic kit in there, hooked up an MR dp to some of the worst piping I had ever seen and called it a day. I waited 2 months for you to finish a swap like that?

Wow thanks for this it might be a bit old but oh well. I was thinking of letting them do a KA-T stage 1 motor but this has stopped me from that thought.

My friend got his swap there, he got the package with the fmic, efans, profec B controller, exhasut and other stuff. His came with FAL fans, which werent bad at all, but he started having overheating issues and found electrical tape in his coolant lines where the sensor for the fans were. He fixed that, but later found out his headgasket was out. They replaced it with a metal one free of charge. I guess for him he had a good experience in the end with the downfalls, but he has to pay alot out of his end for the trip back and forth and whatnot.

Well no one should have to go through that kinda stuff on a install. To find electric Tape in a coolant line WTF that just shows that they dont pay attention when doing their installs. They seem to be more profit orineted then product profisency.I would rather wait 3-4 months for a install to be completed then 3-4 weeks and deal with that.Thats just my 2 cents.

Well, that sucks that you guys had those problems, but they are still the best shop in central florida! Enjuku is a close second but when you ask around you get these types of story's about them too.

I do know that XAT was moving shops during the time that these took place. Now that they are in their new shop things have been running very smoothly. I recently started taking my car there after bad experiences with the other FL shops.

Are they perfect no, but Casey is not the type to screw poeple on purpose. I've seen him bend over backwards for poeple even when it was their fault not his. Sucks you had that experience man!
