Reverse Lights Auto to Manual KA24E

Today we tried wiring the reverse lights in on a 1989 KA24E auto->manual swap. We are using a manual transmission harness, pretty sure it's from DOHC, and the wire colors on the lower harness for the reverse plug were green/white and green/blue. We wired these into the plug on the side of the s13 fuse box but they did not turn on. The bulbs work and they were tested so that's not the problem. The fuse for the reverse lamps look good.

Anyone have some tips? Am I retarded? AHAHAHAHA.

mine was also a swap and have the same problems... still have yet to correct it, but i think it has to do with the actual plug that comes from the fuse box. I still have the auto fuse box and the manual fuse box IS different found that out the hard way, because there is no plug for the starter that matches. So yeah... i've been told to get the manual fuse box, but i'm too lazy

Those wires go into the junction box, and THEN the fusebox. Power flows like this.

10A fuse in the underdash fusebox for backup lamp-green/blue-junction box-reverse lamp harness-green/white-junction box-back up lights.

The 2 wires in the switch are actually non-polar so you can hook them up either way.

On the auto they go to the inhibitor switch. I think you need to track down the green/blue wire from the junction box and make sure you hook it up to the switch in the gearbox. Also check for short in this wire.

Why did you even use a manual lower harness? The auto harness can be clipped right at the case and hardwired directly in 1/10th the time it takes to swap harnesses. Remember, the chassis side isn't prewired for the manual harness at all.
