high idle

Im stumped as to why my idle is so damn high (around 1200-1400). I recently replaced my intake manifold gaskets, every single vacuum hose (even the ones behind the valve cover and the ones leading to the carbon canister), and i have correct timing. What other things can cause high idle? i have a stock ka24e.

try reseting your ecu my 90 was doing this also..till i reset.

from 240sx.org

You need to leave all the sensors connected
2nd of all, the check engine light WILL NOT turn off until you reset the computer, to do this:
Find the computer(Behind the plastic piece by the passenger foot
Pull it out
Turn your key to the on position
You will see a flathead screw looking bolt on 1 side of the computer. Turn this fully clockwise
Wait at least 2 seconds
Turn it back to fully counterclockwise
This will then show the trouble code - (The check engine light will blink to show this, for instance, blink..blink..blink......blink..blink, will be 32)
After you read the code, you can start the engine
Turn the bolt back to the clockwise position for at least 2 seconds(While running)
Turn it back to the counterclockwise position
Now shut the car and then start it again, this should of removed the code.

With the engine off, clean out your AIV/IAV valve with carb cleaner. Once you clean the AIV/IAV valve, then disconnect your throttle position sensor subharness...should be three wires, black, white, green..???. Go ahead & start your car. By disconnecting the TPS subharness, your idle should either drop or rev higher. Using the phillips type screwhead on your IAV valve, (the phillips type screwhead is visible on the passengerside of the motor towards the rear firewall - should be right by the coolant lines that run into your firewall / passenger compartment - adjust your idle till you get it to 650 rpm +/- 50 RPM. Turn your motor off & reconnect your TPS subharness. Once you reconnect your TPS subharness, re-start your car. With the engine running again, your idle should reset to 700 rpm.
Anyhow, hope this helps..
