Starting problems...
All the interior electronics work, heater/blower working, etc. When I turn the key, I get nothing. No clicking, no crank. 100% sure the battery is good.
I checked my connections to the starter and all my grounds. The battery cables are in good condition and the terminals are clean. They're all ok. Any ideas? Should I take my starter out and get it checked?

someone I know is having the same identical issue and checked everything you checked.he took his starter to an auto zone to get it checked and found out his starter was bad so that was most likely the problem.your case could differ though

I took the starter to my Murray's Auto and it checked out ok. They suggested that my positive cable (to the battery) is bad.
I have this cable now and don't know how to put this bitch in. Do I just cut the old terminal off and splice in this new one?

when you turn the key to the on position all the electronics in the cab work. the heat/cold air fan blows, radio turns on ok, and you can here the fuel pump turn on in the trunk.
i have no alarm. will changing the positive battery cable make a difference?

the neutral and parking switches are good. i can't locate the anti-theft relay...i'm
i found a harness the was unplugged (stuffed behind the instrument panel). But, I can't figure out where it goes. It has four wires: one solid green, green/blue stripe, green/white stripe, green/black stripe, and a solid black wire. Hopefully this harness is why its not starting...anyone know what it is?

First, just try cleaning the connections going to the starter, it's also not hard to clean the insides of the starter, or even replace the brushes and everything. Edit - oh and i'll check to see if i have that plug when i'm off work in an hour and tell you where mine goes. |

one thing i realized now. the car is stuck in park (or so it seems). move gear selector into neutral and it doesn't roll. could this be related to the starting problem?

I figured out what it was. The inhibitor switch on the transmission went bad. Don't have time to fix it, but the car is up for sale now. An easy fix for the buyer.

this thread sucks, it seems like all the smart people avoided it.
fact: s13's have a record of killing starters because the solenoids are underpowered and need more amperage. consider wiring up your own relay harness direct to the solenoid with heavy gauge wire, i did this way back in the day and it solved my PLAGUE of starter problems. i honestly went through 4-5 starters in several years because of this. as for the auto transmission switch, that can be bypassed. |

And FYI, that plug hanging under the dash is the CONSULT port. You all should know that.
