Hey there!

I installed a 2nd Gen OBX Short-shifter from PDM Racing about a month ago.  It's making a vibrating noise at around 4000+ RPM in 1rst and sometimes 3rd gear.  Does anybody experience the same problem?

Sometimes aftermarket short shifters whine, while you are in gear, because aftermarket short shifters don't have the rubber isolators that the stock one has that gets rid of the noise

B&M's are notorious for doing that, 2nd gen obx do that maybe due to the fact the center piece is no longer rubber...

i am just wondering how are the second gen short shifters??
hows the much of a decrease in throw?

It's a very noticeable (sp?) decrease in travel.  I haven't compared with 1rst Gen OBX or B&M.  As a matter of fact, I'm the first 240sx that I know of in my area that got a short shifter upgrade.  IMHO, it's worth every penny I paid for.  Except for that grinding noise. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='

I added some stick on sound deadening material (dynamat) to the shaft of mine that helped.  Just a little strip around the outside seemed to work ok.  Also make sure that it is not the shift knob, my Momo was loud as hell all of the noise just resonated in the hollow center.

Actually my shifter didn't make any noise with the stock shift knob.  I put on the NISMO GT knob, and now it rattles like a mofo if I really get on it.

I have the same OBX shifter, and while it doesnt make any noise, it pops up sometimes to where i can push it down.  Dont know if anyone else's do this.

don't buy obx there is your solution.  obx is just a mass producer of crap copy products.
