greddy type rs bov problem

My bov doesn't seem to be blowing off any air no matter what the boost is at. I search the forums but couldn't really find a solution. Ohh and one weird thing if I type "bov not working" in the search it always says database error. Anyone else get that.

Thanks in advance.

have you adjusted the spring tension? (the little nut around the screw on top of it)

yup, tightened and loosened it. Doesn't seem to make a difference.

did you check the vacuum lines? make sure the bov is connected to boost/vacuum line, not just boost line... (ie. dont' connect to wastegate, connect to the throttle body line...) i know this is obvious... but just wanted to throw that in...

also, is the bov new?

If your boost reference is correct and it was working previously, any chance that the bov was bought on ebay and may be a knockoff? If so it may have seized. Take it off and see if you can actuate it by hand.

Problem fixed.....i don't know why but I just replaced the screw and it blows fine now (strange...). My friend wasn't using his greddy anymore after he got the hks ssqv, so he gave me the screw. I'm kinda wondering how much it would cost to order just that from greddy. Autozone or Kragen don't carry it.

Ohh and I'm sure my bov is not a knockoff (unless they really put that extra effort into making the greddy box and etc). I was going to get the china-made a while back. The problem with that it always seemed to have a leak, no matter how you adjust it.
