ok, this is NOT about a 240sx, but i need some help if anyone can....
its a 1989 toyota cressida, it was running fine until about 2 months ago, i noticed it started to get a little weak, and from then on it has only been trouble, the engine got worse and worse, it started buring oil, at first at a barely noticable rate, now im pouring in a quart a week. the engine would smoke after driving it too, even from normal driving smoke would pour out the engine compartment... seems to be coming from under the distributer.... does anyone know if i can do anything about this? or how i can fix this maybe? if some of you know the 7m series engine has been known for blown head gaskets (BHG) this is not a case of BHG, that was the first thing i checked for.... |

Could have a cracked block, blown rings, blown head. Any number of things, but they're all bad and require a tear-down, new engine, or a quick sell as a mechanic's special.
More info. White smoke, black, grey, all three? Is your radiator getting low on fluid? Not to harp, but this should be in Tech.
