How much do you like your NUTS?

I need a set of lug nuts, but have a few requirements...

1. Easy to use/can take abuse from track days. (meaning key/nut wont wear like my cheapo autozone ones)

2. Must fit in a Sparco Wheel (meaning, no regular lug nuts because the socket doesn't fit into the hole)

3. Price.. I want QUALITY but don't need BALLER gold plated crap...

4. Locking- I know they wont STOP a theif, but hopefully slow em down.

Suggestions? What nuts are you guys running, and what do you think of them? Thanks!!!

I second gorilla lug nuts. You can get them off summit racing, they come in a variety of colors and are very nice. They got for about 30 dollars a set and i think you can get locking ones as well.

cool I'll have to go check it out. Summit is cheap but their S&H charges suck.

I got my Gorillas from SPL when I bought my wheels. They were $26 or so and they are pretty solid. The key fits tightly and they are skinny so they fit a lot of wheels.

Oh yeah,

Any suggestions/ups/downs of having a closed or open lug nut?

The only i can see are

Closed=may not work with extended studs

Open= leaves threads exposed to rust....

they are basically the same thing.

or if you go to any american tire/discount tire and have tires mounted you can request "splined lug nuts" for no extra cost. plus they give you a choice of open or closed ended. looks identical to my muteki lugs.

as for the open ended vs. closed, what you stated is basically the main differences unless you wanna get all technical and argue weight, which is rediculous.

the way I see it is the only reason I would get extended studs is so that I could add a larger spacer....Unless you are pushing out gobs of power and are breaking regular studs and opt for the nismos.

The spacer will give a closed lug nut the same effective (or close to) thread distance so I would choose design based upon preference, not disadvantages

I've had black muteki closed ends for 2+ years of hard use, no problems
Also, they haven't developed any surface rust if you're concerned about that sort of thing
