01 accord EX 5 spd exhaust issue
So yeah the stock cat-back looks like it's rotting from the inside out, and I've noticed CRAP gas mileage. I need a new catback, and my mom is paying for a "performance" (if you will) catback. It can't be more than $550 USD and can't be "too loud", yet I want that nice, powerful import sound plus a few Horsepower.
Suggestions on name brands? |

Just go to a muffler shop
Get any name brand performance muffler I guess Magnaflow, etc As long as its a straight through design (vs. baffled) you'll be fine for "performance" Reason I say go custom exhaust is just cause I dunno $550 for an Accord exhaust seems like over kill I'd rather spend $200 on a custom exhaust that works fine and use the $350 for maintenance, changing oil, spark plugs, tune up, etc I wouldn't be so quick to blame bad gas mileage on a hole in your exhaust

Gotta live with what I got until I can afford a 240. And I'm not paying for this... Looking to buy a S14 in about March-May. Hopefully Kouki, but I'll definitely settle for a zenki with the SR20, KA-t, or RB series. I just can't get enough of the kouki heads/tails... I'm probably not spending more than $9,000USD. Already got 5K and I make $1500/month...
meanwhile... Already been diagnosed by the exhaust guy at the shop. He's pretty much a badass. |

I'm just saying, that doesn't sound that convincing...if its just the muffler that has a hole in it, I'm not sure how that could drastically affect gas mileage The EXHAUST guy telling you that your EXHAUST is making you lose gas mileage seems like a very convienient thing to say Either way I'm just saying, custom seems like the best solution in this case

The only thing a hole could really do in your exhaust is possibly make your car run leaner(and this is a VERY SLIGHT POSSIBILITY), which would improve your gas mileage.
Good luck with that "powerful import sound + 2 hp" |
