17 year old cracks the Iphone

So I read in the san fransico chronicle this week that a 17 year old boy from ny was the first to hack the iPHONE so it can work with another server besides at&t.

and it he spent 500 hours working on it! about 8 hours a day since the phones debut.

i don thave the phone but its pretty cool. and thought that if anyone had one or wants one they have instructions on how to unlock it yourself for free.

for how much time he spent moding the phone and the cost of the phone 2k really isnt shit, he could have made that much at a summer job, he said he worked about 8 hours a day and put of his life and summer plans for it.

thats why i posted it, i mean imgine what that kid could do if he appliedhimself into other things instead of just a phone, if i tried that i woudla been like fuck it after the first week, or 40 hours, i dont think the juice was worth the squeeze on that one

but it now takes him about two hours to unlock them. So he could unlock 2 a week and make 12k a mo.

THE iPhone HAS BEEN TRADED
Terry Daidone, the founder of Certicell contacted me this morning, and offered to make a trade for the iPhone. I traded it for a sweet Nissan 350Z and 3 8GB iPhones. I will be sending the iPhones, unlocked if they wish, to jpetrie(the first donater), gray(the reversing genius), and iProof(who is truly amazing at finding stuff online) Thanks a lot everyone. I leave for college tomorrow, and this has been a great end to a great summer. If I ever do anything more with the iPhone, it'll definitely be posted here. Also I contacted iphonesimfree and offered to verify on this blog their claims of a software unlock. No response yet...

If he didn't make it public, held out for it, and only talked to a few big companies, I'm sure he could've gotten a lot more, maybe even tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars.

most def...but he's still going to get good benifits...companies are going to be in "awe" of this kid...cause if he can break and iPhone...which holds reputation for not being that easy to hack...then he's going to be getting calls...but cant he get into trouble over this?

some people REALLY hate AT&T

There are also a lot of foreigners that can benefit from this since not all of them can buy the phone yet.

you also have fokes that dont want a 2 or 1 year contract with at&t or a private cell provider... again there is just a large market for un locked phones overall.

hope he doesn't get caught by at&t, he fought the power(aka death star by some sites) and won.

iPhone Unlocked
It was a matter of time only. Most exclusive popular phones are usually unlocked sooner or later.
Same as the new Mac intel machines, Apple made Windows compatability 'official' only after a few groups had figured it out.

no they dont, at least Apple doesnt.
