HELP - Coilover Suggestion - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

Okay, i'll be buying my first set of suspension as in Coilover set up anyway. There gonna be used, but this is what I found thus far.

Kei Office Coilovers

BreakDown:

4k miles
adjust ride height
spring preload
bound
rebound
camber with the upper camber plates

Cusco Comp-S Coilovers

BreakDown:

spring rate of 8kg/mm front, and 6kg/mm rear.
Height adjs only.
front/rear adjustable pillowball mounts
15000 miles

I just want to know which would be the better one lol. Of course im lookin at the Kei Office ones more, but let me know please.

Or, if you have some for sale, let me know as well. Thanks.

that means that (from what i have heard from people) no one will rebuild them and you must have to buy a new set when the one you have blows.

But in all honesty, a coilover failing is pretty slim, and usually due to negligence (making coilovers go beyond where they should be set at)

There needs to be a sticky.

Used parts that see a lot of wear like coilovers, clutches, brake rotors, clutch type lsd's, etc. = NO BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

nah its more like

rebuildable or replaceable shocks available
life span is probably more than a few months
collars/perch are not seized to all hell

I haven't ran coilovers before, and I would probably not being purchasing them off ebay (unless others have had luck) but I would like to know if anyone ran these, preferably both, and which they liked better. (for drifting use)

The MR you have there are the street usage. Get the tracks, they have better spring rates 10kg/12kg.

stiffer is not automatically better

especially given the questionable quality of the megan shock

i would personally avoid mr and k-sport

For someone with a budget for coilovers - Powered by Max, Stance GR+, or KTS coilovers are good.

Another +1 for Stance. The "base" model Stance is in the same price range as KSport or Megan, and probably better if you consider the quality of the other Stance kits.

I was under the impression that base model stance = 1200$ before shipping. KTS are pretty damn expensive too, but Power By Max is something i'm taking into considering too, with them being in SD (which isn't too far) and 1050$ shipped.

Could you guys throw me a couple reasons why you don't like Ksport / MR ?
I dunno if its been proven or if its bullshit or anything, but I was under the impression MR are rebadged D2's? (or was it Ksports? lol) Either way, if you've had a bad experience please let me know, cause I've riden in a car with Ksports and I didn't personally think it was bad (slid pretty damn well) but never MR. Then again, I have heard good thinks about both, but never any examples of bad things.

Stance are worth saving and from the reviews so are Powered by max.

i have ksport and comparing them to the Stance GR+ I drove on, my Ksports are bit more bouncy but i guess u cant get the same quality for 400 less. So far i have zero complaints of my ksports. unlike most of the ppl who just say " i heard ksports are bad" i just said fuck it and bought em and i like em. again yes not as great as Stance but for the money u cant complain. I picked them up off of Elementmotorsports for 720shipped.(there on here).

and yes fuck yall i have already been beating the piss out of them and nothing yet so...
