FIREFOX set to default, i'll click links and it uses Internet Explorer? Windows Vista
Just got my new comp and it uses Windows Vista
I just installed firefox on my computer, it's set at the default but everytime i click a link for example on aim, it'll open the link up with internet explorer? -firefox is set to my default browser anyone got any ideas? i've tried numerous things but no luck, maybe someone could point me in the right direction *Found out my problem, others posted later saying it was vista, but yeah I found a later upgraded version of aim 6.1 http://www.aim.com/get_aim/win/latest_win.adp that aim uses or says it's "vista ready" so i assume they worked out that bug Last edited by Indolent; 09-14-2007 at 01:29 PM.. |

you guys didnt know?
vista is a smarter OS d0000ds.... i mean, you TELL it to run firefox.. and its like a lazy body shop worker "nah man, what you really wanna run.. is explorer bro!" NO bitch.. I want FIREFOX... "nah bro, explorer is better. i mean, it has tabbed browsing n shiet" honestly.... i am so confused as to why so many people have already migrated over to Vista, its such a heavy, bloated OS. i still run win2k because its faster than XP, and because I like stolen software and hate self-validating software. they can go fuck themselves. |

XP works fine for me but that 'software validation' crap sure is annoying.
I got it worse: Use Firefox, uninstalled IE but still get pop ups on IE browser screens. WTF!? and fucken Norton picks up the infection but can't seem to get rid of it. |

vista is still a work in progress
MS jumped the gun a full year, they needed to work more of the stuff out IMO does vista have the same "set programs/default access" panel like in XP? also what kinda links are these? windowsupdate? saved bookmark or html file? or just browing within firefox and when you click on a link all of a sudden IE pop's up HOLLA BACK

Since the guy that was running the Office suite of Microsoft has now moved and is running Windows OS side...I'm hoping good things will come out for Windows 7 (sometimes called Vienna). The obvious feature will be the Ribbon from Office 2k7.
Anyways, to the OP..glad you resolved your issue.
