little crackle sound afterwards, check engine light IS on. I dunno if I really have to go and get those error readers, or if i can fix this myself. It's a 95' 240 KA and the only upgrade it has a is a aem short ram.

Just go to Autozone and get your codes pulled for free. Done. Then fix whatever's wrong. Done.
