I have a 1989 240SX and I was wondering what color I should paint my car...I'll be doing a bid, the color that gets picked 5 times is the color I will probably get, so help me out... pick something that is very unique. The thing is I have a dent on my bumper. How much do you think all total will be if I got my bumper fixed and car re-painted?

Paint jobs are alot like tools:  you get what you pay for.
You can get a really cheap one (like $200)  that will probably fade and chip after a few years, or you can get a top of the line custom job (a friend of mine is getting a custom job thats going to cost him $4000) which will be alot nicer and hold up better than a factory paint job.  It all depends on how much money you want to drop on your car.  As far as a color...  thats kinda up to you.  Personally, I'd go for a dark green, cause that is unique, but not really too crazy.

My boyfriend colored his black with a hint of blue. It sparkles off blue shade at certain angles of sunlight. It's really awesome, and it cost some 2000-3000, I think. I'll probably ask him for details so I'll post it back here.

hmm lets see, first off make sure that when you get it painted its a two stage paint job (base coat, clear coat) and the more coats of clear the better glassy shine it will have. If you were gonna get a body kit now is the time, so you can get everything painted at once. I would suggest a bright yellow! or a more stealth color like Electron Blue.

yellow is really hard to pull off, i think.  blue sounds good though.  it'll make it easier to match up the underhood components too.

I'd go with a dark blue or black, or go skyline blue, it's bright but not to flashy.

Before I painted mine I was considering Lambhorgini Diablo Purple. It gives a bright color in sunlight, but in dark conditions it almost looks black. Very cool color.

my car is black, but i'm getting a paint job in the spring. i was thinking on silver, but i've decided that's too bright for me. i'm either going with a skyline blue (except a little darker) or a dark forest green. black is cool, but the only bad thing about it, is when it's dirty, it 'really' looks dirty.
:looks out window...yup...it's dirty!:

true...but when it's clean it looks so sharp.
A nice glossy black just gives that &quot;I'm one evil sonofagun and I'm gonna eat you alive&quot; look.:)

For an every-day car, I think charchoal grey or black is awesome. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

Yeah, I feel that you all have good opinions on what color to get. But maybe if you can put a link on here with the color you suggested that would be more helpful. &nbsp; Thanks for the feedbacks and great opinions...My car is dark grey right now, and I'm looking for something more darker like some of you said. &nbsp;Metallic black or forrest green will look nice since I have my rear window tinted and my door windows as well... But still I'm kind of picky on which color...Maybe pictures of different colors of my car will be great. &nbsp; So try to send some links to me if that is possible...

I figures you would want to see the color yourself thats why I put the skyline pic in my post &lt;img src=&quot;http://www.rx7club.com/vforums/avatar.php?userid=237&amp;dateline=995560652&quot; &gt;

Tinted tailights look cheap in my opinion. Besides I think the red tailights contrast nicely with all black, makes em stand out.

darker colors also get dirty really fast, especially if you park outside-it sucks.

I agree with you s13girl, my car is a dark grey and I always park my car outside. &nbsp;I wash my car once a week and it gets dirty after that day I wash it...Maybe because dark colors attract dust and dirt. &nbsp;Especially when I live somewhere near people who are doing construction all day long.

It sucks, but don't you kind of like cleaning your car? I have a problem with that <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>. Mine's beige, but I clean it all the time anyway. The inside of it used to be brown but I spray-painted it black (and it looks pretty good) so I clean this all the time now. My trunk's my weak spot. Everything I get out of my &quot;cockpit&quot; <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> I put into my trunk  .
I'm probably gonna paint my car next year, so I'm thinking about a dark color-I'd sacrifice the money spent on a car wash-dark cars aren't that noticable <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>.

I've always been a fan of pearled paint jobs, but they're really expensive, and only look good if they're done really well.

I dont know about you but me and cops dont get along. I'd reccomend a darker color so that you dont attract the wrong type of attention. I like gun-metal gray or a really dark blue. I also hear that you can go to different dealers and get a factory quality paint job in colors that nissan does not offer. I.E. civic si blue (electron blue) That may be cheaper then getting a custom paint job and you will still have the custom look.

Lol, I like that part about you and cops not getting along. I seem to have the opposite problem... or not a problem <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>.

Dealership would not be a bad choice. I know that the Nissan dealer I worked at sent cars to a local body shop and supplied parts (paint, body, etc...) Try it and post back -w- results!

I'd say Nissan Solar Yellow, I'm doing that on my S-14, but I don't know if it would look good on a S-13...
The Hon-duh Taffeta White would look killer on your car, it's kinda like a pearl metallic white-silver
