s14 ka questions
i got a 1995 s14 ka24de that i want to put into an s13 i recently bought, however the s13 needs a new chassis harness, and i dont have the harness for the ka. if i got a complete s13 chassis harness would it work for the ka?
thanks, koby |

Yes it should work. As long as you use your s13 main harness and ecu, then you shouldn't have any problems.
PM Mr. Russ (R240NA) though. He knows all this like the back of his hand. |

Negative my friend. You need to run a 95 S14 ECU with harness and then you have to do some wiring work.....get the wiring schematics from a FSM and have fun! There's a few wires you need to wire from the S13's engine room harness, specifically on the E9 and E10 plugs all the way to the S14 Engine Harness' ECU plug. You will also need to rewire the S13's F1/M53 plug wires to the same plug. It's been a while since I've done it so I don't remember the wires exactly but they're for your oil pressure, water temp, tach, and speedometer IIRC. I know you can change the intake manifold and run an external coil distributor (like the 91-94 S13 KAs) and then run an S13 Engine harness + ECU but I'm not too familiar with all the details. Searching will yield positive results though!. It's up to you how you want to do it.

1) Retarded. Waste of time. 2) Easy as pie, the way to go. 3) Good advice...except the part about "how you want to do it". There's a clear way to go. Searching would have told you this. - - - - HOWEVER... A '95 KA with intake manifold, etc..has "S13 style" plugs. No need to change the intake manifold. Swap the exhaust mani to make the 'down pip' bolt up. if the S13 was a DOHC car...use the '95 motor, plug and play. Swap any sensors with plugs that do not match your existing harness. That's it. Seriously. For these purposes - - > S13 KA = '95 KA '96-96 motors are as easy, as a replacement for a DOHC S13...just swap all the intake manifold plugs, or swap to your old S13 intake manifold. - Brian

Brian cleared it all up, but to add, you do not ever need to use anything from an S14 electronics wise when installing a later model engine into an S13, period. The 1995 engines use all the same plugs, you'll swap the CTS and O2, that's it. It's complete cake.
