hi, i picked up a hatch trunk from the junkyards today.. i got it for $100 and it was black with no spoiler and no windshield wiper.. i guess it was from a xe or some older fastback but its in pretty good shape.. do you guys think this was a good buy?

would this be easy to put on? my old hatch has a windshield wiper and spoiler.. the new hatch also has the defroster wires cut.. is there a way to peel off or take off the defroster system so it will look clean or should i jus hook it back up? anyone have the wiring diagrams for the trunk defroster system..? maybe i can jus get new glass w/o the defroster..?  <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

Well, wiring up that stuff is really straight forward, and id just rewired ur new hatch wiring to the wiring from the car.

As far as installation its pretty easy, help is good to have, and u take the shocks off, and then lift the hatch higher, loosen the bolts at the top and take the thing off. U have to deal with a little wiring, ie cutting and splicing, dont try fishing ur old harness through, that would be hell. And just bolt the new one up and ur good

'>  Ohhhh man, that IS hell. On my old black S13 dubbed project lower drifter car (recently sold)  I had to get a new hatch, the install is  forward, I had to do it alone, it was a $#*@.  The hardest part is aligning everything right.

Haha, yeah i said that cause i found out through experience, tried doin that, after a few hours and a lot of cursing i just put the harness that i got with the new hatch and did some splicing.
