Car decided its never going to turn off

I justr swapped my car to sr20 and it runs and drives great with no problems untill this morning. I tried to turn the car off and it keeps running. I can literally drive the car around the block without the key if it didnt have steering lock. It doesnt eventually die or anythign it just keeps running untill i stall it. And all the gauge cluster lights stay lit red when i stall it and take key out. Any idea what would make the car continue to run?

I had the same problem with my s13 KA. I had an alarm system installed at the time and when i took it to the stealership they said it fried a circuit. Then again they dont call it a stealership for nothing, repair was $1200

when stuff like this happens to me, i use it as an excuse to install more switches.

yea sounds like your alarm is looping the power to the turbo timer and vise versa.

I was going to say if you had a turbo timer, maybe it didn't have enough power to turn itself off. I know it sounds crazy but I had it happen to me. I also live in wisconsin and it was the dead of winter. Turned the car on just to let it idle for that week and I went to go turn it off and the turbo timer wouldn't turn off. I ended up disconnecting the battery.

afterthought

i just remembered that i had a similar problem with my radio staying on, etc. if your car is lowered enough and youve been driving around like that for a while, chances are, your driver side front wheel ate through the wire loom that runs along the top of the wheel well. if enough wires are exposed you might get constant power to certain circuits, or the car will shut off in the middle of a high speed right turn (which happened, leaving me in the middle of a mountain road with no hazard lights).

so check it out. you can easily remove the fender and relocate the wire loom using big zip ties.

rhs idk why no one has ever mentioned that before but thank you. That is most deffinitly why my headlight no longer go down the wires are all chewed up. Not sure if fixing the wires will make my car turn off right cause i dont think theres anythignt o do with ignition on that side but at least somthign will be fixed.

If the lights are still on, on the dash board after the stall, its in the ignition system, not the ems.

figured it out. I removed the alarm installed by the previous owner and repaired the harness under the driver side fender and everything works great now.

good to hear that you find the problem. I was just about to tell you to check the wiring underneath the steering wheel.

well its been a whole day of driving and still no issues. Headligths still didnt go down after repairing the harness but now im thinking i might have burnt out the relay for headlights when the wires were all touching eachother in the harness.
