Hud in a Hatch

I know that it has been put into a hatch before but I was wondering if you can put a hud cluster into a hatch without swapping the dash. I just want the digital speedo and the tach in the middle. I know you have to by the cluster itself and the harness but what else? Do I have to buy the projector or is that just for the windshield part?

You need the harness, and cluster... but you don't need the HUD projector.

I got a HUD and Digital cluster from my old parts car. Since I had already swapped in a crack free dash and swapped the VIN plates, I didn't feel like swapping dashes again. So I'm running just the Digital Cluster and I'm saving the HUD dash for my Brother and Sister-in-laws car when they return to the states.

In other words... You can run just the cluster with no problems. Just unplug your current cluster and the sub-harness and install the Digi cluster and sub-harness. Simple.

BTW, it's easier to get to the sub-harness swapped over with the dash removed.

I have to swap a HUD into my new car, I will try cutting the dash and giving it an oem look, if it goes ok, I'll do a mini write up.

So If I put in my dohc tach into the sohc digital cluster can I just plug and play with the digital harness or do I have to cut the tach plug off and replace it with my dohc tach plug.

I have hud and dash in my hatch, its plug and play. And to answer your question, you can buy a sohc hud cluster and swap over your tach, it will work fine.
