My friend thinks that '97 and '98 240sx are 6 cyclinders and i told him that they are 4. pls post to prove to him that they are 4

the easiest way to prove your friend wrong:
1.open the hood..
2.count the spark plug cables...

4 spark plugs = 4 cylinder..

Every car has a spark plug for each cylinder, if you look at the engine bay there are four spark plug connectors. Hence the engin is a four cylinder.....I hope that made sense. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/turn.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':turn:'>

Don't take that for gospel.. or your friend would believe that 4cyl Ford Rangers are 8 cylinders, becuase they have 2 plugs and wires per cylinder.

Also... just tell your friend, "It's my fuckin car, and I think I know what's under the hood!"

Guys I had enough of this cover-up. I'm probably gonna get in trouble for telling you this cause its a big cover-up by nissan and all S14a owners but neither of you are right. yes, theres 4 under the hood, and they hid an extra 4 in the trunk.  I bet you thought you had a spare tire under there, huh?

a few ways to show him is to

count fuel injectors.
ports on intake manifold not the same manny for a 6 unless it is a straight(OLD)
take heat sheild and show him the 4 ports on the exhaust manifold

if that fails just search the internet for a broschure(sp) for the 240 that gives all the info he will need...

Tell him it is a tri-turbo inline 6, with 3800 HP and 10000 lb-ft of torque, and that each one is hand built by a team of midgets in Carlos Ghosn's basement... Then slap the fire out of him.

It's an I-4 from the factory though a popular modification is to add two more cylinders on the side to make it an L-6 (four pumping up and down, two pumping side to side). Sure it's shaky, but that's the cost of more power. . .
