S13 doesnt start/shuts off randomly on hot days

Its had this problem for a while. It shuts off/doesnt start on really hot days.

All the electrics work like radio, lights, mirrors etc and it cranks but it just doesnt turn over.

Sometimes it starts and mid journey just cuts the engine and i have to pull over and wait 5min and its all good again.

Its a 1992 S13 Nissan Silvia and its stock.

I have no clue where to start looking.

Use the SEARCH function here on Zilvia and find a FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL, (FSM) for your model year S13. Look & see if your CHECK ENGINE LIGHT turns on & stays on when your engine cuts out. Use the FSM to put your Engine Control Unit, (ECU) into Diagnostic Mode and see what codes your ECU kicks out. If there are NO codes, then check and replace the following - Best to replace since everything in your car is over 20 years old!!

1). Check / Replace the fuses underneath your hood in the black fuse box. They can go bad without shorting out.
2). Check / Replace your automotive relays for the ECU & Fuel Pump. If those go bad, they could cut power to the ECU or Fuel Pump while the car is running.
3). Check / Replace your fuel pump.
4). Check / Replace your plastic ignition switch module. OES Genuine W0133-1626351 Ignition Switch | Auto Parts Warehouse
Contrary to what everyone on Zilvia believes, these DO go bad. The contacts within the plastic housing short out causing loss of power.
5). Check / Replace your distributor, distributor cap & rotor along with your ignition coil.
6). Check / Replace your Mass Air Flow Sensor and wiring
7). Check ALL your ground wires. Including those going to your sensors. If any of those short out, it can cause your engine to stall.

Any one of these items could cause your car to stall.

Anyhow, hope this helps.
