Adding A/C to a non A/Ced S13

So right now I can get a REALLY good deal on a S13...but it doesn't have Airconditioning...which sucks, ever since I was born everycar my family has owned has AC, my Spec V has AC, but will be sold in favor of a S13...but summers here are hot, and I rely on AC ALOT...so I need to know if I should wait (possibly a VERY long time) to get a car with AC or not...

Now so how hard is it to install AC or get it installed onto a car w/o it? How hard is it to install during say an engine swap to an SR20DET?

How much would it roughly cost and what is needed?

so it came without a/c from the factory? cool!
um, I'd say it's not worth it at all considering you could probably find a 240 with working a/c if you keep looking. If it had a/c at one time and just ins't wokring than yeah it can be fixed

You'd need a compressor, evaporator, condensor, all the nesecary lines a new a/c contoller thing probably some other stuff I'm not thinking about. I assume the hole for the lines in the firewall aren't there if it never had a/c.

anyway, forget a/c. How hot does it get there in the summer anyway? I don't have working a/c (although I'm trying to get it fixed) and I live in Florida. It hit's 98 all the time!!!!! Although it really sucks when I gotta dress for work or something and I show up all sweaty...haha

Hey daemos, im in winterpeg too....and right now, you don't need the a/c....it's still 10C at night!!! If your that hard up for it and you don't want to wait for another 240, give team auto a call, they will let you know what you need and even install it if you want...i think it's like 1k for it installed (don't quote me).
But if your thinking of doing an SR swap, i would hold off... as they come with a/c and you would be replacing it anyway.

..just for the record, my s13 doesn't have air

Well, A/C is a dealer option, so when u buy the car if u want it the dealer will put it in....toyota did this too back in the 90's

No i don't really know of any wpg forums...but what i can tell you is that prices for 240's here are stupid, i just saw a 91 with 168k kms for 9200$$ ....like sh!t, i'll sell mine for that price. Cheapest i saw was 5400$ for a pig nose, with like 210k kms...

how much are you getting yours for?

less than $4000 I'll pm you some winnipeg forums....

it's a 1989, with a 1991 bumper leather interior, no poweranything (but this is EASY to change) and no rust!!!

The only problem is if I do this, I give up the spec v...*Sigh* tough decision the 240SX is def a better platform to tune with, but the spec v is more refined and practical...which is something I will miss, but things I hate about it is that it'll never be fast.
