Did you ever find out what the problem was?

I'm having a similar problem with my car except turning the car off and restarting it doesn't solve the problem.

It won't rev past 1500 RPMs, but it idles perfectly. My MAF is stock and is brand new.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Disconnect the MAF and try to rev it.

Hey DriftJunky,

I thought I'd share my findings...

I adjusted my ignition timing this weekend and noticed that the motor won't rev past 1500 when the TPS is disconnected. I also noticed that even when I plug the TPS back in, it won't rev unless I turn the motor off and restart.

In my case, I think the TPS plug was dirty/loose because it took a bit of wiggling to make it snap into place after I set the timing. I cleaned the plug and sensor with some sensor-safe cleaner and it seems to have resolved the issue.

I'm guessing my ECU lost the TPS signal intermittently because the plug was dirty or not connected well. Hopefully this helps in your case.

Good luck!
