Dude, you do know that decent paint cost around $500. You think someone will paint your car for $200? I guess you can try Maco or earl sheib but don't expect anything good. Plus it is called the jams.

A "decent" paint job would usually run well over 1K, actually.
Thats just not true. You can do it yourself for less than that price. Or, you can find a little hole in the wall paintshop that employs 30 illegal mexicans that does nothing but pump out cars all day and night long. That'll run you around 250 bucks. Its not a good paintjob, but its fucking great for the price. |

Good luck trying to paint a whole car for a budget of $700. Excluding the DIY roller job or rattle can deal, it will be hard to find a shop to give you a good quality paint job for under $1500, unless you got the hook up. OneDay, Earl Schieb, ect.. will be like $499 for the basics. The basics is thier lower quality paint, three year warranty, and no clear coat. Does not include door jams or dent repair, that is all extra. The One Day I went to quoted me like 1300 to paint car same color. Price included dent removal, welding trunk lid holes, and their "plus 2 paint" 3 year warranty. I looked at thier work and definately was not worth the money.
Check it out: http://www.onedaypaint.com/1daypaintsystems.html Do what others have already suggested... Save money for high quality paint job, do all prep work yourself, and / or roller job. JUNG918 is correct... Good paint will cost you several hundreds of dollars. Check this out too: http://www.paintscratch.com/ I've also been quoted anywhere from $1,500-$10,000 for a complete paint job. I've had PJ Bonifacio do paint on all my cars. He does a great job for a decent price. I highly recommend him. I just had him do some repair work on my trunk, and painted front and rear bumpers. Also, M1 Autobody and MOB Works does good work. Your best bet is probably to ask around for recommended shops, and look at previous work done in person. Anyways, good luck.

One day paint and body Van Nuys.
But if you are really after a good job, really going to have to search for the right body shop to do all of the prep. Best bet is to have all of the good body work completed at a body shop you like, next take the car to a one day paint and body, pre mask the car your self to reduce over spray. Get the base paint job for $450. Once the car is done make sure the car is left out side for a couple of days in direct sunlight, using this process will allow the paint to bond to the metal and also show imperfections. After the paint has bonded to the metal take a silver or marker and go over the whole car with the body shop guy have those items of imperfections circled and noted. Now you have all of those items sanded out and have the complete car wet sanded again. Get the $800 paint job from one-day paint and once completed, determine if the body needs more detail work. When its done you will have one very nice paint job, figure this most body shops would charge about $12K+ for this type of work. Using the one-day paint and body method with what I mentioned should not cost more then $3k for the whole process. |
