sr sputters around 2500rpms, more throttle it runs fine

since i got my car running last week, i havent really drove it until a few days ago, and i noticed while pulling through a shopping center around 2500rpms my car likes to sputter like it has a misfire..

any where above that, when i am accelerating it is fine, if im trying to go a steady speed, it sputters..

i am still running on the stock DOHC fuel pump (for now) an SR maf, and the engine is all stock..

i swapped out my MAF with a friends sr MAF, and it was still sputtering, swapped ECU, and it still sputtered..

we have narrowed it down to a fuel problem so far, but has anyone else had this problem ??

i am ordering my walbro, and a FPR tomorrow so hopefully that will fix the problem. Because i'm thinking that my stock pump isnt pumping enough fuel at a steady pace to keep it going but at higher RPMs its just fine..

fckin weird !!!

sounds like you need to install the walbro. i had that problem and swapped the fuel pump and that solved everything. swap out the fuel pump and see if it still does it.

Might also want to check your coil packs. I had a coil pack that was going bad. My car would idle normally, but when I accelerated, my car would sputter like how you described. Get a fresh coil pack and swap it out one by one. See if that helps any.

*Actually, I should have read your post more closely. My car would sputter around 2500rpm, but it would continue to sputter all the way up the range. So maybe it is the pump.
