300zx big brake help

heres my situation. i bought my car with amazing vsxx with great offset but they are four lug. i want to go big brake and i want a working handbrake. i know i need the 300zx handbrake cable and drums the question is do i need the 300zx rear assembly from a z32 to hook on the handbrake drums or is there a way to bolt them on. i have heard different opinions. i would like to stay four lug since i love my vs xx and it will pretty hard finding such a great offset for an s13

you can stay 4 lug but you need the 2+2 ebrake cables because they are longer than the other ones, the rear drum/parking brake assembly, rear rotors, and rear calipers.

i have all the parts but my question is the regarding the mounti ng of the drums, do you need special z32 assembly parts or can you mount on the s13 without having to buy rear spindles and brackets.

As far as I know, if you want to use the z32 e-brake, you'll need to use the z32 "5 lug" rotor for the set-up to work like it was intended. I don't know of a s13 pattern 4 lug rotor that has the same set-up to accomodate the z32 e-brake shoes. I suppose that you can have your rotors redrilled for 4 lug. Good Luck!

Wow, welcome to 1990 all over again. It's not like we've ever discussed this shit before.

If you have the Z32 ebrake assembly (backing plate, shoes, springs, etc.) then you're done. Redrill the rotors to 4lug and put it all on. You don't need the upright unless you're switching to a Z32 rear shock.

retelling the story one more time wont hurt. will it?

search a little. im sure you will find the answers you are looking for. if all else fails... ill give you my how to.

btw: you can always purchase new predrilled 4/5 bolt rotors at your local shop if drilling isnt an option.
